The State Government has declared a Public Health Emergency, Human Biosecurity Emergency and a State of Emergency for Western Australia.

How we’re responding

We are continuing to monitor developments relating to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) daily and assessing any potential impact on Shire services and events. We have activated local emergency management arrangements and business continuity plans and moving into the Recovery Phase.

We continue to take advice on all public health matters from the State and Federal Health Departments.

Impacted Services

  • Public halls, the Library, Museum, Narrogin Regional Recreation Centre and playgrounds, outdoor gym and skatepark facilities are now all open with social distancing and number limits in place.
  • Council Meetings are now open again to the public with social distancing and number limits.
  • Customer Services is fully open with social distancing and number limits.

The leading authority in this emergency is WA Department of Health who’ve set up COVID Clinics throughout the State.

Public Gatherings and Events

Non-essential, organised gatherings of 500 or more people can no longer go ahead.

Non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people have also been banned by the Federal Government.

Under the Public Health Act and Emergency Management Act, penalties of up to $50,000 will apply.
