The Shire’s Strategic Community Plan 2017-27 is the Council’s principal ten year strategy and planning tool. Based on outcomes of community engagement processes, the Plan sets out a vision for the Shire’s future and captures the community’s aspirations and values.

A strong area of focus for the community development team is the Strategic Community Plan’s Social Objective - to provide community facilities and promote social interaction. Key outcomes under this objective are:

  • Provision of youth services
  • Build a healthier and safer community
  • Existing strong community spirit and pride is fostered, promoted and encouraged
  • Cultural and heritage diversity is recognised
  • A broad range of quality education services and facilities serving the region.
